Benié Almerita (ベニエ アルメリタ, Benie Arumerita?) is Karoku's mother and a former scientist who worked for Kafka before she defected with her husband, Nisu.
History[]
Benié worked as a researcher at Kafka until Nisu had a change of heart when talk of injecting Incuna cells at an even earlier stage than what had been done to their son, Karoku, reached his ears. He persuaded Benié to run away as a family, despite her worries that Kafka would chase after them and kill them all.
As they fled from place to place, she and her husband posed as doctors or engineers to get by. Eventually they landed in Karasuna, but after Nisu heard about the legend of the Rainbow Forest, he decided it was a good place to hide. It wasn't long after they built a home there that their son found an injured Niji and nursed it back to health. After the Niji fully recovered, she asked Karoku to bring the animal to their home so she could take some blood samples, curious about its physical composition.
